Virb Edit will not launch

Hi Guys,
I am at the end of my patience I am unable to get verb edit to launch on my mac. I have spoken with Garmin and also mac, but the problem appears to be with my mac, I have just reinstalled OSX and tried again but to no avail. the verb icon just bounces up and down until I force quit. I have tried in the past altering security and all other settings that I can think of, also crash reports sent to Garmin. My gut instinct is that a app or program is stopping it from launching but do not know how to confirm this. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Al
• Have you checked your logs? Open up Console (in /Applications/Utilities) and read through your logs just after you've tried to launch VIRB Edit. It's running for me just fine using Mavericks on both a Mac Pro and a Mac Book Pro.
• One other thing to check is your settings in System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> General to see what "Allow apps downloaded from:" says. Unless you're in the habit of downloading software from random places on the Internet to try, it's safe to set it to "Anywhere". You can also change that setting on a per app basis if you don't want to set to "Anywhere".
• I'm sorry to see you're having difficulties with our software.

Are you running [VIRB Edit 2.4](http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=6593)?

As SCHINDER described, any console logs would be helpful in figuring out what's going on.
Can you paste the contents of your error log here, or just mail them directly to [email protected] and mention this thread? The error reporter's probably working, but I'm not seeing anything that looks obviously like a startup crash at the moment and that would help me be sure I'm looking into the right issue.
• Hello
having the exact same issue .... it launches and then crash instantly.
Don't really know what's happening. would it be looking for a place that does not exist ?
THanks for your help
I've sent a mail to the address above

• OK so found the solution by myself ...
I presume i removed some videos or clips or anything from a previous project, version or whatever.
Anyway, just go to ~/Library/Garmin and remove Virb Edit folder. You should start from fresh :)
Have fun

I don't have time for this

Verb edit was working fine up until today.. Every time I open it it says "verb edit quit unexpectedly". I reinstalled 3 times and updated. I restarted my computer too..
What now.?? do I have to return this damn thing and get a go pro?
• On my MacPro, I'm having the same problem - which just started yesterday. Here's what I did and tried as a fix:
1) i wanted to see if I could import a video from Final Cut, which was simply a slightly rotated clip from the Virb. It was originally in .mov format, but I used handbrake to make an .mp4
2) When i tried Import > Other, I selected the file and when it tried to load it, VirbEdit crashed.
3) When I tried to restart the app, it would spin for a bit (loading), but then it would just show the dialog "Virb Edit quit unexpectedly".
4) I uninstalled the app, downloaded and installed the latest version from Garmin.
5) Tried running it, received the same error dialog.
6) Removed the VirbEdit .plist, rebooted, and tried the app again. Same error dialog.

so now I cannot get VirbEdit to run at all. Any suggestions Garmin tech?

Thanks,
Steve
• I just read that other thread and deleted the \RawMovies folder and it worked. I think this was caused by importing that other video, as everything coming directly from the camera never caused the problem.
