problems connecting to a mac

Hey guys, my VIRB is difficult to connect to a mac, and in fact, it is not recognized at all and I cannot download my files.

Any ideas on what to do?

thx, Nathan
  • Is the camera charging when you connect it?
Are you using the usb cable that came with the Virb?
Which Mac? Some iMacs have usb problems. Try another usb port.
Open About this mac in the Apple menu, click on system profile, look at usb and see if Virb is recognized.
Do you have any other application that uses usb cameras like iPhoto, Aperture running?
    Reboot the Mac.

I hope Garmin start up a sub-forum for VIRB cameras. I think we could have a lot of great knowledge sharing and making out videos / pictures much better.

-I have iphoto, and it used to open up when I'd connect the VIRB but I'd close it right away and use VIRB edit. Now, iphoto does not open when I connect the VIRB.
-I've re-booted the machine several times now.
  • Ok, either your Virb or your Mac have some hardware defects on it's USB port. Send the Virb back to Garmin.
