I'm considering the purchase of one of these cameras and anticipate using it extensively for photos (and a FEW videos) while riding a dirtbike. I'm interested in the color rendition and resolution....my ability to do edit and crop images. I'm wondering how well they'll "enlarge".
Here you will find photos taked with Garmin Virb during my last ride. All photos taked while cycling with an average speed of 25km/h using my Garmin Edge 810 as a remote control.
Some of them are already crop but some others are at full resolution. All of them taked with the setting at 12 Megapixels.
Keep in mind that in order to take high resolution pictures (12 or 16 megapixels) you should stop recording video, and the highest burst rate it will be 5 pictures per second.
If you took pictures when your video recording is on then the picture resolution will be similar to your video resolution which means the highest will be 1920x1080.

This was one of the most helpful posts do date. You can't tell the video on youtube because of the processing they do. The photos look fantastic. You cemented my decision. I am excited about it and I have the fenix as a bonus.
