GPX files from Virb Elite not importing with Virb Edit

I am using Virb Firmware 3.1 and Virb Edit 2.2.2 for Mac. Gpx and and .fit files are on the Micro SD card but do not import when using Virb Edit to import files. Have tried both "import all" and "import selection" and it doesn't make any difference.
