VIRB Elite, disappearing TEMPE data?

Santa brought me a Tempe to talk to my Virb Elite,

The sensor connects fine and displays the temperature in dashboard in digits and a graph, thus headed out for a cycle with HR, speed/cadence and tempe sensors all connected.

After downloading the videos in Virb Edit I find there are no templates to show the temperature as yet (a quick search here shows others have noted this!)
What concerns me more is that on uploading the .fit or .gpx files to garmin connect that there is no temperature data available!!

Where is the temperature data going??? Has anyone successfully recorded temperature directly to the Virb and ended up with a nice graph?!

My 910XT isn't TEMPE compatible (would be nice if Garmin would rectify that, nudge nudge!!) so really need the verb to record this!

Cheers all,
  • I've notified the person that needs to know about these issues. Ideally I'd be able to move these kinds of topics to hardware support forums for these devices, but I can't.

Because there isn't one. Isn't it about time that VIRB (and Fenix/Tactix) get promoted to honorary fitness devices so they can have hardware forums here?
  • Thanks for passing this on paxter1, It's been quite a gap since the last firmware update, does your contact on that side of things have any rough timelines for the next update??

    Cheers!

Wondering the same thing. 3.10 came out in December. Not hearing anything at all lately.

Same thing with my Virb Elite. The tempe data was not written in the Virb's gpx file.
The temporary work around, in the Virb Editor, I remove the gps data and imported it with my Oregon's 650 gpx file then the temperature showed up in temperature dashboard. Only if you have other garmin's gps device with tempe sensor you can do this, otherwise I thing should wait for new firmware... :(
