Deleting Files in Virb Edit

I had the same question. Hover over the clip or the video and hit control. This will pull up the menu and a delete option is available. However, it prompts you to either move it to trash or remove from Virb Edit. I have been selecting the latter. Still trying to figure this thing out.

At the end of the import step from Virb you have a button "Remove from Virb". That actually removes all the videos you have imported and all the related .gpx files.

You might want to reconsider using the "Remove from VIRB" option - there have been complaints on this forum from people who've done that, and later regretted it. I prefer to empty the card right before recording new stuff, usually the next day, by using Setup/Card to remove the files.

I spent a long time trying to work out how to delete files from Virb Edit and from the Virb itself using this software. Eventually found the secret delete feature (control click) but it takes eons to delete 30 files this way. But how does this software allow me to delete a file on the Virb without having to import it first??? My Virb has WiFi so why am I attaching usb cable to it to download files? Why can't I view, download and delete files by connecting to the Virb by wifi? I am really quite shocked that the WiFi feature seems to do nothing other than let me frame the shot by getting a pre-view on my iPhone/pad. Are there more secret features with hidden controls that they are not telling us about?

If you want to delete a file on a VIRB (without using a PC/Mac) you can try this:
Video: play video on your VIRB, than press up/down and on the right side a colomn appears with symbols, the bottom one is delete.
Select it with the up/down buttons than press OK.
Photo's: view the picture than press OK, select delete (up/down) and press OK

At this moment you can not connect your VIRB to transfer files through wifi (I would like that too).
You can connect to the VIRBs wifi, fill in the password and that's all.
For controlling the virb or transfer files you need a special program that is not written yet.

Actually, I was trying to use the Virb Edit software to delete files from the Virb because trying to use the controls on the Virb itself is infuriatingly awkward. Turning the Virb on and off is easy. Anything else is difficult. I don't think they invested very much in creating the user-interface.

If you're connected to the computer, just use Finder to preview and delete the files you don't want to bring into Virb Edit. No need to involve VE to do that job.

And if you think the Virb interface is bad, try a GoPro sometime to see a truly bad interface.
