Combining Clips

Is it possible to combine clips to create new clips?
I've located the start of a sequence on one of the Virb recorded files. At this point I pressed 'Split Clip' so I could easily locate it.
The end of the sequence I'm interested in is in the following Virb recorded file. Again I could split that clip at the end so now I have 2 clips for the action I'm interested in.
Is it possible to combine these 2 clips so that I could rename it to something meaningful.
If not, I think it would be a really useful addition to the Virb edit software in future.

Yes, it is possible to do that.

Unfortunately, Garmin is lax in providing helpful instructions on the usage of its products. I have been using Garmin GPS receivers since 2004, and it amazes me that Garmin still has such crappy instructions for its products... sigh.

I suggest that you call Garmin and ask the Garmin telephone assistant to provide you with step-by-step assistance. The Garmin people I have spoken to over the years have all been top notch. Maybe Garmin's written instructions for their products will also be top notch someday, but I'm not holding my breath.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you are trying to do, but you can drag as many clips as you want onto the video bar to combine them. You can trim and split them and once you're happy, publish them as a video, either to a local video file or to YouTube. Note that publishing locally creates an mp4 with the video and a GPX file with the track, if any of the clips had a track associated.

I've got the clips on the video line. An example would be :-
2 Virb recorded files in the project and I want to use the last minute of the first file, and the first minute of the second file. I want these 2 minutes to be available as a single 2 minute clip which I could then rename ( would be useful to use this clip elsewhere in other projects ).
My project would then contain 3 clips effectively.
Currently I can split the first and second files at the relevant points which would then give me 4 clips.
  • In that case you should be able to export the video and then manually import it, which will cause it to show up as a clip.
