Ditto. More cameras are requiring h.265 (HEVC) for higher quality settings now. To use these videos, we have to transcode (with ffmpeg, for example), which reduces quality and wastes a lot of time. Weirdly enough, VIRB Edit can import and optimize h.265-encoded video but not export it. Come on, Garmin! Let's add this!

You're right and it's a shame. I haven't found an alternative with comparable functionality and I would gladly pay a subscription for VIRB Edit if Garmin would actively maintain it. Or they could release the source? Sigh.
I know, it's a bummer they can't lateral this football to some other interested party. Every computer or OS upgrade I wonder if this will be the last time it works. And if it is gone, then what? It's strange to think of a software category just disappearing.
