VIRB Edit not exporting longer 360 videos

Hi,

Just got a Virb360 and am trying to create videos in Virb Edit. Smaller videos work fine to export to a file or directly to youtube, but larger (longer) videos are exporting into unplayable files of inappropriate size (an estimated 20gb file exports into 5gb that then cannot be opened by anything incl. VLC). My guess is that the upload to youtube works well, but that the files are then recognised as corrupted and not actually processed.

Overall the problem seems to be the exportation of longer 360 videos - everything is up to date and I have a brand new Macbook Pro 13inch.

Would appreciate any tips.

Cheers,
Peter

  • Hi Peter,

I haven't seen this issue before, and I'm not having much luck reproducing it on my end. We did just release 5.2.0, so please give it a try and let me know if it fixes the issue.

If not, I have a few questions. How long of a video are you trying to export? Given the file size I'm guessing around 20 minutes but it'd help to know for sure. Are the source files all from the same recording session, or are you combining multiple clips? Do you have the branding clips enabled? Also, the GPU on your MacBook is the Intel Iris Plus 650, right?
  • I'm finding the same problem. Edited a 14 minute video and cannot export to youtube, or a file on my computer.
