    Don't update !!!!

Same issue for me :mad:even after deinstallation and reinstalation.
  • Toco avenue

Other issues I'm having with this version:

    1. Unable to resize or move PIP window without crashing the application
    2. Unable to select 1st Angle of multi-camera when in Full Frame mode (this is totally broken)
    3. Switching between camera angles, when in Picture-in-Picture mode, now has a 2-3 second lag in processing (screen goes black)
    4. During preview, camera angle switches cause audio and picture to jump and crack
    5. Video and audio is no longer smooth when previewing, video stutters constantly and audio cracks occasionally
    6. Transitions are not rendered during Preview
    7. Battery on my laptop gets really hot now when editing (it never used to before)

This is ridiculous. I'm on a brand new MacBook Pro and this software is almost unusable now. It was working perfectly fine until this release.

    (Update)
I just want to add that the exported video is exhibiting the same behavior as what I'm seeing in the Preview window. It's choppy and there is some weird flickering that occurs between clip changes, especially when moving between camera angles. There's also a weird thing where the PIP window goes green for a second. You can also hear the audio popping.

This video was exported from 5.1.0 and demonstrates the issues: https://youtu.be/MOv3Mi-YtjQ

to late, I did update, even I update OsX to Sierra. I was Yosemite.
now, audio sucks, fade sucks, so I can not use it.

they fix the problem when export 30fps was 29,00 instead 29,976. but if I export 60fps export whatever it whant to like 46,27fps.

    DOES GARMIN PEOPEL read coments?
  • Just updated, because I didn´t read this thread before.

Virb Edit crashes, doesn´t matter what I want to do. Even playing a Video causes a crash.
  • When will a new 5.1.x be released with fixes for the crashing, audio popping, etc.

VIRB Edit Development Team - given the significant issues that people are experiencing with the 5.1.0 update, issues which are rendering it unusable for most people, when do you anticipate having a new release available that will resolve the reported crash scenarios, re-introduction of the serious audio issue that was previously resolved in 4.23, etc.? Many of us have downgraded to 4.2.3 so that we can continue to use the application, but now we're missing out on all the great new features that were supposed to be delivered and available in 5.1.0.

I love the camera itself, but I bought it because of the great G-Metrix data that I can show when using the VIRB Edit software. Please let your customers know that you acknowledge that the issues exist, that you are actively working on a new version of the software, and your target date for providing that software to your customers. Do you have a regular schedule for SW releases - like every 3 months? I prefer not to spend hours and hours editing video with 4.2.3 and miss out on using the new features in 5.x if you anticipate a new 5.x release will be available soon with the major issues resolved.

Thanks very much, I look forward to your response.
