Virb Edit won't import

I am failing on all counts to import anything from a Garmin Virb into Virb Edit on a Mac.

I have the latest 3.6.0 version from the App Store. It starts and looks fine.

There are two options
Create Video
or
Import Clips & Photos

I have tried to import clips...
but get to a screen that has three icons (a virb, a camera, a USB) and the words 'connect a virb to start importing' and button for 'import other'.

Import other takes me Mac Finder.

I have connected a VIRB by USB. Nothing happens.
I have connected to VIRB wifi (wifi is on the camera, settings gives me the password), the connection looks good. Nothing happens.

I am at loss on how to get anything off the camera.

Meeting expectations

Are these official forums? Whatever, the response I expected. Dodgy hardware with dodgy software. How hard is it when the hardware is connected with a cable?

When will companies learn. Adding garmin to the list of hardware that I will never recommend to friends and family. Off to get a GoPro and this expletive can go in the bin.

Are you sure the camera is in USB mode and did not switch to charge mode? Have your tried in more than one USB port? Do OSX and Garmin Express detect the camera? VIRB Edit sometimes fails to detect my camera, but unplugging and replugging the USB cable fixes it?

This forums are not monitored by Garmin. They have official support channels that you are entitled to use. Do not expect a forum post to have the kind of oversight that a support ticket has.
