Sync external GPX with Virb Metrix

So to try and save battery, I switched off the GPS on the Virb since I was using a Garmin Edge 800 anyway. I then imported the GPS file from the edge, but it wasn't lined up with the video. So I went to the sync option and lined up the video frame with the GPS location. However, doing this takes ALL the metrix as a single entity, thereby moving the point at which the G-Force relates to in the video as well - which is incorrect. The Virb metrix are obviously correctly synced to the video it recorded.

How do I sync the edge metrix files without altering the Virb metrix in relation to the video?
  • If I understood it correctly, you want to use only the GPS data from the Edge and everything else from the VIRB, right?
If one parameter has two sources, you can pick which one you want to use.

In the video edit mode, click on the G-Metrix icon on the sidebar. You'll see a list of all the metrics recorded in that video. There you can individually select the source device.

Try selecting the Edge for all the GPS metrics (position, 2D/3D speed...) and the VIRB for everything else.
  • Basically, yes. That's what I'm trying to do.

I've got the mix of sources by selecting the relevant source from the drop downs on metrix page. However, my problem comes when trying to sync the metrix to the video, because the Edge is out of step. When you do this, it syncs ALL the metrix data, including the virb data, thereby making that out of sync
  • Wait a second. If you synced the data with the video, everything should line up just fine regardless of the source of each metric. Did you also adjust the activity start time in the G-Metrix panel?
  • Thing is, when I sync the Edge GPS track with the video, it also seems to move the Virb G-Force (as an example) readings at the same time. It's like it pairs the metrics from both sources BEFORE I can sync to the video.

And no, I haven't changed the activity start time because I have no idea what that option is meant to be doing
  • Changing activity start time sets where your laps start; as well as where your duration and distance gauges start counting.
  • So basically, there's no way to sync 2 different metric sources to the video, independently of each other? Feature request?
