VIRB Edit 3.5.0 is available

You can download it at http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=6593, the in-application update will go live shortly as well.

This is a fairly small update. The biggest change is that you can now backup and restore your edited videos, templates and G-Metrix. (This doesn't backup and restore the video clips and photos themselves.)

  • Added functionality to migrate data from one machine to another.
  • Added feedback when rotating G-Metrix by 180 degrees.
  • Fixed an issue with thumbnail generation.
  • Fixed an issue with the circuit track gauge where the position marker could get off track.
  • Fixed an issue where changing a media library folder would not prompt to migrate media files.
  • Bug fixes.
  • Can no longer import G-Metrix with 3.5.0

Using MacBook Air 1.7 GHz Intel Core i7 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 ntel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB running El Capitan 10.11.4

Every single time I try to import G-MEtrix from my device or browse for it on my computer, it crashes instantly and sends a report to Garmin. Any ideas on a workaround for this problem?

    Thanks so much, M

Hi TangoWhisky, I took a look at the crash logs you submitted. We've been trying to track this one down for a while and the reports will be very useful.

One thing to try would be to delete the g-metrix cache located at ~/Library/Caches/Garmin/VIRB Edit/GMetrixCache. This will force the app to re-cache any g-metrix files you currently have imported as well, so the initial project load may take a bit.

Is this an issue specific to some files, or does it happen with everything? What model of device do the files come from?
  • Cache

Thanks, deleting the cache in the library helped temporarily. It was occurring was with all files, using a VIRB XE. Trying to import from a Edge 520, a Fenix 3, or from downloaded gpx or fit files (tried the GPSBabel thing, which helped the first time, and then stopped working).

I am trying to stitch 3 15-minute videos together with the same G-metrix (it was a 45 minute video taken with the VIRB XE). It seems like sometimes I can get it to work once, and then the next time it doesn't work and/or crashes.

  • Lost personal Overlay

Hello after upgrade to 3.5.0 I lost my personal Overlay, I made overlay with Virb Edit, in Gauge Viewer I can find and see correctly the Overlay. Yesterday I've make new personal overlay and today I can't see the new overlay in the main page, but I can see the file with Gauge.

    Bye
