New installation of homeport (marine basecamp) not launching

Hi all,

I'm sitting here on a cold evening in Sydney Australia, after installing Homeport however I get an error when trying to launch the software.

I've tried everything, running as administrator, checking compatibility settings and running with the different windows SP's etc to no avail.

When I launch i get a small screen with message "Connecting to Garmin Servers" then an error screen with the following error dump appears. I have attached the images of the screens along with the dump which appears in the second screen below.

I downloaded homeport from here: http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=7263.

As you can see from the error dump below I am running Windows 7 SP 1.

Any advice on what may be causing the problem?

Many thanks,
Sam.

I would first try to uninstall and reinstall. I would make sure that you have the latest service pack for Windows 7. And if this does not correct your issue, contact Garmin Support. http://www.garmin.com/support

If they aren't able to help you, contact me here again and I will see what I can do for you.

Thanks - I believe have the latest SP for Win 7 as I let the scheduled windows update run. I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail - any assistance would be appreciated.

    Best,
    Sam.

This might be a silly question but do you have a valid network connection? I imagine you do because you're talking on the forums, but I always like to "check the plug."

    Plug is plugged in!

My network connection was valid when installing - constantly tried googling the source of the problem. Also installed in administrator mode, this has me baffled, any assistance would be great.

    Thanks,
    Sam.

Have you tried launching in admin mode?
