BlueChart g2 Vision and HomePort

I am new to Garmin. I just purchased a 73dv with the LakeVu HD maps pre-loaded. I have downloaded those maps onto a microSD and have loaded them in HomePort and am learning the program.

I have also just purchased a BlueChart g2 Vision chart and am wondering if I can use that card, as opposed to a card containing the unit's pre-loaded map, in HomePort the same way.

Any help would be appreciated.

You should be able to. I am not familiar with that specific device but product support should be able to assist you.

  • Well, my first thought would be "Try it and see if it works." That's what I did.

I use copies of my BlueChart g2 Vision card in my computers with HomePort and it works fine.

Note: Copies won't work in your chart plotter, only the original will work. Copies work fine in HomePort so you can leave your costly original in the device.
