No depths in homeport, need assistance

Just got a new boat and put in a 7212.

I put in a blank SD card and it copied a GarminDevice.xml document with serial# etc...,

my homeport recognizes the chip but I still get no depths on my homeport maps when I put in my VUSO11R SouthWest Florida chip.?? (separate chip) do I need to put in my G2 chip first into the 7212??

Does anyone have any idea what I am missing to make homeport work???

Have you checked Utilities/Options/Chart Features ?

Yes I have and spot depth are turned on.

here is where I am at so far,

I have been able to get depths only if I put in the 7212 SD that I made but as soon as I remove it to put in a vision chip, my depths disappear...
