Importing G2 Charts into HomePort

Is HomePort a view only software (load charts each time) or can you install BlueChart G2 (HXUS039R) into HomePort? If so how do you install this chart?

Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure what you're asking exactly.

I think most charts come on SD cards (as do many land maps) these days. Homeport, like it's brother/sister BaseCamp, can read charts/maps from such pre-programmed cards. In that sense they "load charts each time" (i.e. read the card). There's no "install" as such--if the card is seen the charts/maps will be read from it.

Deepening on your unit model you can either put it into mass-storage mode which will make the card visible to HomePort or you can remove it from the device and put it in a card reader.

All that said if your charts came on CD/DVD you should be able to install them to your PC. You can't do that with pre-programmed cards.
  • To expand on the above you can copy your charts from your device (or a from a chart card like the G2 Vision card) onto an SD card and HomePort will read the copies. Your device (plotter) will not read copies, only the originals.
