My chartplotter and SD card reader are unable to read my G2 Vision card. It becomes excesively hot and does not read at all. I think it's dead! I purchased it les than 2 years ago. Is there anything I / you can do to remedy the problem without me paying for a replacement card? Can I download a replacemnt program from Garmin on to a blank replacement SD card?

With regard to your hardware issue, the best thing to do is contact customer support. As for software, HomePort is now a free application. If you have to replace that software, it will not cost.

Funny you mentioned this as my 545S has done the same thing! My Vision G2 card melted inside the unit. I was able to pry it out and get the microSD card out, but no joy. When I insert the MiscroSD card into my new 547xs Plotter, the unit re-boots! I contacted Garmin support to get a replacement and was told that the only thing that I could do is re-purchase a card and they would refund 100.00 for it through a rebate program. This is the picture of what the card looks like.
