Sonar playback zoom capability

Hey all I was wondering if anyone had any insights on being able to zoom in and out of a SideVu recording in HomePort. We recorded about an hour of sonar and it is stuck at the 36ft range. We were zooming in and out a bunch during the actual recording while out on the boat and there was a great amount of detail we saw around 100ft out but can't view it in the playback on the PC. Is this a function that is not yet available in the software or do you have to set the range on the Garmin prior to recording?

This is a known issue. Thank you for the feedback. I am not exactly sure when a fix will be available. I apologize for the trouble.

    playback sonar HomePort

Happens to me GPSMAP 840xs and GCV 10, No ecram Probe visualize details of more than 100 meters, and reproduction in HomePort reproduces 30 meters so it is our pillar of water, so that no purpose for me to write. Do not have another program to play the entire ecram Probe.

After software upgrade to 3.00 and GCV 10 gpsmap 840xs to 2.80. The visualization in HomePort which was 91ft to 61ft passed.

Could you please indicate the time frame you require to fix this problem. Last week I purchased an Echomap 95SV for the sole purpose of scanning and recording shipwreck images for anaylasis ashore. The advertising information for this product clearly states that the sonar images can be recorded. Having obtained some stunning images I was mortified to find that the playback is of no use at all unless you want to examine the water column !!!!! all of the side scan part of the image is missing when played back through Homeport. This renders the unit useless to me and will result in me returning it to Garmin as unfit for its intended purpose unless this can be sorted. My previous hummingbird unit recorded with no issues at all. What is going on !!!!!

I would like to second Hoopsdiver's posting. I bought Garmin units for two work boats and I can't view any data. I have to kit out six more work boats with chart plotters later this year and I will not buy Garmin unless this issue is sorted soon. It's a pity because I am otherwise happy with the unit.

    Sonar recording capability

Thanks Brad, I have been in communication with Garmin tech support who now state that they will look at the problem in the third quarter of 2015 but have no idea when they will know whether the problem can or will be resolved. They cannot tell me whether the problem is with the raw data or just the display. I really hope I have not wasted £1000!!!!. My previous hummingbird unit did all of the recording functions with no problems.

The first post in this thread was August 2014 so I am a little surprised that its not resolved yet.

    SideVu sonar playback

I have noticed this problem aswell. Started to investigate where there could be a third party software that could present my recordings. Its a shame that Homeport still not is able to play recordings correctly.
I found one software that can view sonar sidevu recordings. Its called Sonar TRX, it doesnt play your recordings as Homeport does, you get your recordings as a still picture and can scroll from beginning to the end, also you see one channel at a time i.e right and left.
Try it out, you have 30 days free trial.
Garmin should have some of there stuff to develop their software, what use do you got of recordings if you cant playback them?
    Catastrophy!!!
