I own a Garmin Montana 650 and the Garmin HXCA015R-Canada g2 v2011.5 Map on a SD card. I connected the Montana to my Windows based laptop and opened Garmin HomePort. Within HomePort I created several routes along my cottage lake and uploaded those routes to the Montana. Within HomePort the via points on each route show as small dots however on the Montana they show as the large blue pushpin symbol. The symbols cover map details particularly when the route is on a small stream with many turns or via points. There are no settings, that I can find, within the Montana to change route via point symbols. For some reason by default they show as blue push pins. I contacted tech support however they were unsuccessful in finding a fix. No doubt a software/firmware issue. I submitted the issue to the Garmin Ideas site as well.
That said, anyone else out there with the same issue and have you found a way to upload the routes to the Montana and have the via point show without the large pushpin symbols? If not is there a setting in the Montana to reduce the size of the symbols that we've missed.
Thanks
