I downloaded Home Port and saved to an External HD. I can't seem to use the software with first "installing" every time I log on. I feel really stupid. Shouldn't it have saved me an icon to my desktop like Google Earth, or anything else you download?
You have to install HomePort to the hard drive on your computer. I put the install files in a folder on my computer's hard drive and run the executable (install) file. It insalls HomePort on the computer.
Copy the file you downloaded to your external hard drive to a folder on your computer, then run it. I suppose you could copy it to the desk top and install it from there.
If you don't understand this, you may need to get someone who knows computers to help you.
