Hi all. I just bought a 441s and want to create waypoints in homeport so i don't have manually enter them in the unit. I found this video about using homeport and Earth to create waypoints http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GP74Ak2hbbA. I have format the same in both programs, dd mm' sss". Well i keep getting invalid format errors in homeport. In the vid he just copies and paste. No such luck. I'm new to this so it's probably something simple. Is there another was to input waypoints into homeport and transfer them to the gps unit?

    That would be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GP74Ak2hbbA

You can create waypoints with your mouse or pointing device (on the computer). No need to enter numbers, just point and click. Then put them on an SD card and upload them to your plotter.

    Inputing Coordinates

I disagree with your assessment that there is no need to input coordinates. You just point and click. We are constantly inputing coordiates from cruising guides that provide waypoints. It is significantly easier to input the coordinate they provide than panning around to find the exact coordinate especially if it is a narrow channel or down in Mexico where the islands and shorelines are off by a mile or as much as three miles.

I'm only trying to help. I know nothing about Mexico and it wasn't mentioned in the original post.
Perhaps someone else is willing to take a chance.

    Lunchmeat

I reviewed the video and followed the same process as they did to cut and paste coordinates from Google Earth and I did not receive an error when creating a new waypoint. Can you provide any more information to help determine what is going wrong?
