Naming Routes in HomePort

I just loaded HomePort and my BlueChart G2 vision. I then proceeded to make 4 different routes in four different color. At that time I was given no option to name these routes. My library has one folder named My collection.

What am I doing wrong?

You do see the routes you created in My Collection?

You can right-click on a route in my collection and choose 'Rename' to rename your routes. Or you can just left click on a route and change its name in the properties tab at the bottom.

I do not see the routes

I do not see the routes in my collection. when I click on it, it won't open. The routes are on the chart.

Can you create the routes in your collection?

That means you have to make sure to have My Collection, not the chart selected when creating the routes.

Then, when you have renamed them to your liking, send the routes to your chart (by drag-and-dropping or by right-click/send to).

It looks like the 4 routes I planned are all lumped together in My collection. When I click on my collection, the folder looks open but there is nothing in it. although my 4 routes are on the map in 4 different colors. Should I just delete 4 hours of work and start over? if so how do I do that? or is there another option.
When I click on My collection all the way points appear, but I think they are all mixed together. My routes overlap in a bunch of spots.

Can you attach a screen-shot of HomePort with the routes displayed and My Collection selected?

I am at a bit of a loss as to what might be going on, so maybe that would clear things up a little.
  • One of my least favorite things about HomePort is that it saves user data (routes, waypoints, etc.) internally as "my collection" or in other folder created by the user instead of in external "files" like word processors, spreadsheets, and even MapSource do. For me, the external files for data created by the user seems more intuitive. I suppose that's because I'm a little "old school", having started with computers back in the DOS 3.0 age.

Of course, unless you write it yourself, you have to take the good with the not so good so I have learned to work with it.

For the OP, I've never had the problem you are describing and we're all using the same software so I have to assume that you are doing something incorrectly. Your routes have to be listed in the left hand panel. I believe all routes, waypoints and tracks that you create show up in my collection even if you also have them in a sub folder.
