Hello everyone. I am a new user to Homeport and BlueChart g2 and I have been trying to learn the software and charts. I have a few questions that maybe you can answer for me. First off I am only able to print from the global map. When i try to print from the navigation map it says that it is restricted. Also i was wondering if i can back up my BlueChart g2 micro sd so that i have a safe copy. Is it possible to load the micro sd to my hard drive so that i don't have to keep switching the chip from my 60csx to the laptop. When i am in homeport i go to chart properties and in the region page it says that my laptop and gps unit are not installed. Do i have to unlock something ?. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks... Fred
Haha too many questions in one post. Makes it harder for other users like us to help.
Some maps have printing restrictions. Expected.
U can backup ur map to hard disk. But homeport will read it only when it is on the ad card.
Ur last an is odd. There is no locking unlocking and homeport never says that the laptop or gps are not installed
I got it backed up to the hard drive. Why is there restrictions while trying to print maps. I love the Homeport software and the Bluechart g2 is very good. Keep up the good work Garmin....
Garmin does not make their own maps. They buy map data from a. Variety of providers. Some of these providers give the data to Garmin on condition that users can't print it. They want these users to buy printed maps separately.
I think the reason is much simpler - there is no info about printing permission when map is on SD or device and HomePort just like BaseCamp denies printing by default, no mater what map it is.
