Garmin Home Port

First of all I am a new user so I would like to say hi to everyone.

My question is if Garmin Homeport shows the actual position of the boat (of course when a GPS antenna is connected). If not is there a software of Garmin that does? I have an SD card of bluechart g2 vision(eu015r) and I would like to use my pc as a chartploter if it is possible.

I don't know of any software for your pc that would let you use it as a chart plotter. I have Garmin mobile pc on my laptop but it only lets me use it as a GPS for the truck. You would have to have your sd card in a Handheld unit or compatible Fish Finder GPS or Garmin Marine Plotter. It would be cool though to use the laptop as a plotter and navigator.
