Turn Symbols in Routes

I have set the new release of HomePort to not create symbols for turns in routes. That works fine in Homeport, each turn is a dot. However, when I upload them to my 5208 plotters, this is what I get:

a seemingly random assortment of symbols for turns. Some are little squares (fine with me), some are fish symbols or other miscellaneous symbols.

So - is this a HomePort issue, a plotter issue, or an incompatinility between the two.

More importantly, what is the "fix"?

Could you attach a gdx file with a (preferably short) route that displays this behavior for you?

We will have to investigate what is going wrong here.

    Thanks!

The options in HomePort are *.gdb and *.gpx. I can't upload the *.gdb.

I apologize, I meant gpx. Thanks for the attachment, I'll check it out.

    Which version?

You said the new version. I am on 2.0.4 - is there a newer one that I can't find?

And how did you set it to NOT add symbols to the routes.

    Thanks

    Any word on this issue?

I apologize for ignoring this for so long.

The gpx file looks fine. Now the next step would be to look at whatever we write out to the card when sending this data. Depending on your GarminDevice.xml file that the plotter writes out to the data card, we will either write a gpx or am adm file onto the card that will contain the route.

Could you get me a copy of that file (after sending the route with HomePort).

Once we verify that the data we send to the card is good, then it's probably pretty safe to assume that it's a device issue and I will have to look for someone who can try to fix it on the device side.

You want me to export routes from my plotter to an SD card and send you the export file?

No, when you send the routes from HomePort to the SD card (which you would later insert into your plotter) I am interested in the file that HomePort creates on the SD card. I would assume this to be an ADM file.

I hope this makes any sense.

    OK, Understood
