    Error when starting

    When starting Homeport now I get an error message that informs of the new release and asks me to download this. And then everything closes and nothing happens. I can't even start the old version.

    I had to click on the download button several times. The program kept running though.

    On my laptop, I got the download eventually but the extraction process never went past 0%. It's a long story, but I eventually got the laptop updated.

    for an hour with now progress? Likewise, HomePort vanished, leaving this dopey window that won't even close / cancel short of using Task Manager.

    It is possible that while the update file gets mirrored and propagated to multiple servers, you might experience some slowness in downloads.

    @KIWIGPS, that screenshot indicates to me that the download of the installer finished. At this point, the only thing it is trying to do is to extract and run the installer. The extraction takes a few seconds for me. Go ahead and kill it with task manager and run HomePort again.

    I had that same problem. And if I cosed HomePort and opened it again, I was not able to download the update, the option under the help drop down box was to install the update (or something similar). Again, the same screen and no progress.

    Here's where it gets fun:

    I did a search on my PC for files added or modified that same day. I found homeport.exe and another file in a homeport update folder. I renamed them and started HomePort again. This time it allowed me to download the upddate from the Garmin site again. Once this was completed, the update ran and everything is fine.

    Note:
    Since I didn't plan on telling anyone about this process and since I wasn't sure it would work, I didn't keep notes. It would probably be best if NeoLite would respond with the actual filenames and directories (folders) for those less computer literate and adventurous as I am.

    Installed the new version (also took a few download attempts, kept saying "error updating" shortly after clicking download update button).

    LOVE LOVE LOVE the new "Full Screen view". BUT, how the heck do you get out of it??

    I'm in the full screen view, and I can't get otu of it, to shut down the program.... tried every keystroke known to man kind.

    Yes, I had to end the program, then restart it to see the "F11" next to the command. "F11" toggles it on and off. "Esc" is used in many other programs to exit the full screen mode.

    I like that the points in route are now "dots" rather than anchors but it looks like I have to recreate all of them to get the dots. I still need a way to count points in a route because my plotter is limited to 250 per route.

    But, I really appreciate the update and the incorporation of many of our suggestions. :)

    Can't download upgrade

    What error message? At what point?

    If you're having trouble downloading the update (not applying it), wait a while and try again. Perhaps late in the evening or early in the morning when there's likely to be less traffic on the Internet or server.

    If you've downloaded it but can't install it, see my post above or wait for a response from NeoLite.
