Merging Folders from Home Port to GPS5208

From Home Port, I copy my waypoint files to an SD card. I am able to view the file folders on my GPS5208. I am not able to merge all the files? Could it be that there isn't enough space in my unit?

Also:
This may be more of a 5208 question: I'm able to merge specific folders to my unit from my SD card. Is it possible to delete selected folders from my units or do you have to delete all files on the unit and reload specific files?

There are limits on your plotter. They should be stated in the manual somewhere.

I believe the 5208 is limited to twenty routes and routes are limited to 250 points each. There may be other limitations as well.

You can delete routes, waypoints, etc. from the 5208 individually.

I was not aware that you could have folders on a 5208.

There are no folders on the 5208. You only see the folders when accessing the SD memory card. So the answer is no, you can't delete "folders" on the 5208. You can either delete individual WP's, Routes or tracks, or delete them all.

If I'm correct, your trying to delete a "group" of stuff (that you saved in a folder), and then load a new "group" of stuff (from a new folder). Correct?

If so, to accomplish this just do the following:

Lets say you have folders: OFFSHORE, INSHORE and OTHERSTUFF. You have OFFSHORE and INSHORE currently loaded, which fills the plotter with 20 routes. So that means you can't load the OTHERSTUFF folder cuase it also has a route in it.

What you want, is INSHORE and OTHERSTUFF loaded. So just do a replace from card, choose INSHORE. that will delete everything from the plotter, then load the INSHORE folder. Now simply do a merge from card, and select OTHERSTUFF. Now you will have your plotter loaded with the INSHORE and OTHERSTUFF folders.

Done.
