Have HomePort v.2.0.2. Every time I open it it gives me a software update notice that v. 2.0.3.0 is available and ready to install. I click "apply update" and go through the procedure and when its done I'm asked to either run or not run HomePort. If I say run, the same software update notice comes up. If I close and open the program again, the same update notice comes up. I've run the update several times but still the same thing. I'm caught in an endless loop and my version is still 2.0.2. What gives? Help please.
That would drive me nuts :) To make sure it currently works as intended I just tried it myself and it works for me. Below is the sequence that you should observe during the software update. Let me know which step in this sequence is different for you. That will (hopefully) tell us where it is going wrong:
1. In HomePort, I select Help->About. It should say "Version 2.0.2" 2. select Help->Check for updates. It should bring up a dialog saying that "HomePort 2.0.3 is available for download". 3. Click the "Download Update Now" button. After a while it should bring up a dialog saying that "HomePort 2.0.3.0 is ready for install" 4. Click the "Apply Update Now" button. It should immediately launch an installer (white background color with a Garmin logo) and HomePort quits automatically preparing for the update. 5. Click the next buttons on the installer. Select "Launch HomePort" on the final page of the installer. Click "Done". The installer should quit and HomePort should automatically start back up. 6. select Help->About in HomePort. It should say "Version 2.0.3".
Well, in "Help" there is no option for "Check for updates" displayed, only "Apply Update Now". I go through the process of installing, launching, Done. HomePort starts up again and then I get the "Apply Update Now" screen again. Puts me back in the endless loop. No joy. Should I uninstall the program and reinstall from the disk? Or what?
Your suggestion sounds most reasonable. Try uninstalling 2.0.2. Then you should be able to download the latest version (2.0.3) from your myGarmin account.

Where can I find the download in mygarmin. I initially purchased this program in SD card form and installed it from the SD.
FYI: I also had the same problem with 2.02, but after a few weeks of me clicking "Don't upgrade now" or "Upgrade later" is stopped asking me/problem went away.
