Copying SD cards

I have several G2 Vision cards that are now out for update. My dealer tells me they may not be back til February or March. So I made copies of my cards so I could use them this winter to plan routes etc...

They have worked fine with Homeport til now (since I did the update) my copy of lake erie and ontario will not work at all, I just get a constant series of beeps when I put them in the card reader?? I tried rebooting and same results.

I had copied the 5212 maps down to an sd card and that works.
I had also copied the gps640 maps down to an sd and that works also.

My originals are now out to Garmin so I don't have them to make another copy. Any suggestions?

RSL, fwiw, my copy of a G2 Vision chip works fine with the newest version of homeport.

Do you have a backup of the files you can copy back onto the card? Maybe the file got corrupted somehow?

Yes, that is what I thought also and I do have a copy on my hard drive. I made another copy on another SD and same results.

How is it you can copy a G2 Vision card???
I can't even print a Homeport page that draws on the G2 map detail!

You copy the Garmin folder to your hard drive, insert qa blank SD card and copy them back.

This chip will only work with Homeport. It won't work in a chartplotter.
