Creating Routes

When creating routes, a "balloon" pops up with information on each waypoint. Also, there is a set of crosshairs following the cursor. These tend to obscure the cursor and the area where the route is being created.

Is there a way to turn these features off?

You can turn off the balloon by clicking the red x button on the top right corner of the balloon. Once you close it, it won't appear for the route that you are in the process of creating. The cross-hairs show the range and bearing during route creation. They cannot be turned off.
