Deleting "Devices"

I have a USB drive connected to my PC with my checking account backups on it. It shows up in homeport under "Devices".

There is an option in HomePort to delete it but I don't want to delete my account data. Will selecting this option just remove it from HomePort or will it delete my data?

Selecting that option will not delete your checking account backups. For example, if the item shown under your device has a name untitled, selecting delete on untitled will delete the file named untitled.adm or untitled.gpx, if it exists, from your USB drive.

You cannot stop a USB drive from showing up permanently in HomePort. Similar to Windows Explorer, any drives that you can use with HomePort will show up as an available device.

    Thanks for the reply. :)
  • Would it be possible to "upload funds" somehow to the checking account via HomePort??? :D :D

Sure, then you could issue me a check for some tickets...:D
  • I use Quicken for managing my checking account. Backups are done to a USB drive left connected behind the computer. It would be difficult to accidentally delete the backups from most programs. HomePort puts this drive right on the screen. That's my concern.

    I'll live with it.
