1. Are the icons I select in the program for way points going to be the same icons that show on the screen of my GPS device?
Many of the icons you select in HomePort will be shown the same way by your GPS device. But not all devices might display all the icons that HomePort supports and vice-versa.

2. Will there be different folders in the chartplotter to keep the waypoints seperate as it would appear in HomePort?
Yes, each folder that is listed under your device in HomePort corresponds to a file on the device.

3. Can I change the name of the folder titled "USERDATA" on the SD Card to "Monday" for a specific trip to organize my waypoints/routes/tracks or does it need to remain USERDATA?
Yes, you can change the name of the folder to any name you want. You can also create new folders and give it your own names. Please note that MapSource will only read from the folder named userdata.

4. What is the difference between the Delete option and the Remove option?
Delete will not only remove the item from the selected folder, but also delete that item from 'My Collection'. For example, you create a folder named 'Florida' and add a waypoint to it. Later on, if you want to remove the waypoint from the folder Florida, but you still want to use that waypoint for some other trip, then you would select the remove option.

5. Can I copy waypoints off the device to the hard disk for backup?
Yes, you can drag and drop the folder containing your waypoint or just the waypoint itself from the device to 'my collection' or any folder you've created under 'Library'.

6. Why is the Fishing Chart option not enabled for me?
Fishing charts are not availabe in all map products. For example, if you use the included 'Global Map', you cannot view fishing charts.

7. Why is HomePort running slowly on my machine?
Please verify if your machine meets the requirements for HomePort. Also make sure that you are running the latest video driver for your graphics card.

8. I put my vision card in and it pulled up the maps. How do I save my waypoints to it, or do i have to do that on a separate SD card?
Using HomePort, you can write your data to any SD card that is not write protected.

9. How do I organize my data in HomePort?
The Library is where the data (waypoints/route/tracks) on your hard disk live. 'My Collection' contains all the data on your hard disk. You can create additional folders as necessary to categorize and manage your data. For example, if you have a waypoint that you want to use for a fishing trip to Florida, you could create two folders, one named 'Fishing' and another named 'Florida' and copy your data to both. Suppose you want to view only the data related to your Florida trip and don't want the screen to be cluttered with data from other trips, just click the Florida folder. You can copy data from one folder to another by drag and drop, by using the right click menu item, or by using the Edit menu item.

10. How do I reorder the list of user data so that waypoints are separate from routes and tracks?
Go to Edit->View->Sort By and select Type.
