I've been using Homeport for several years. I copy tracks from my chart plotter to analyze where I've been. I create waypoints and routes for planning and transfer some to my plotter. But the file system has always been puzzling to me. For example, where is the data under the My Collection folder located? I'm certain it's on my hard drive since it remains there when I remove the SD card. But where? I'm at a point where I have lots of folders and lists and need to develop a strategy for managing the data. Is there any information out there about how this works?
If like BaseCamp the data will be in a file named AllData.gdb. ... so try searching your hard drive. The way to manage it though is using HomePort itself.
Thanks so much. On my PC, the path is C:\Users\Ron\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\HomePort\Database\2.1. Not only do I now know that these files are relatively small in size, but I now know about Basecamp. I watched a few YT videos on Basecamp and learned some additional info about Homeport. Are you aware of any other good resources? The Garmin help site is getting better all the time but channels like "Garmin Guru" are most helpful to me. Thanks again. Ron
