GPSMAP 546s and HomePort

Looking for a tutorial on how to use HomePort and Mac. Anything out there?
My understanding is I can "plan" trips and load this on a SD card and plug into my unit. Is this correct?

Now, I do have BlueChart g2 Vision card. Would I insert this into my card reader and upload/download this info to HomePort? OR do I use a blank SD card and do the same?

Next, will I be able to pull up marine maps with HomePort to actually plan the trip or will I only be able to add waypoints?

Thanks

Just insert the BlueChart g2 Vision card into your card reader and start up HomePort. HomePort will briefly process the map on your card. Once the progress bar on the card goes away you'll see that map.

You can plan your routes directly on the card or on your computer -- just drag and drop routes in between the card or use the transfer dialog.

Once the card is back in your chart plotter you can replace or update your chartplotter's device database with the ADM user data file on your card. (HomePort shows you all of the user data files on your card, so you can organize the data as you wish.)

We're thinking of creating some videos, if you think this will help let us know.

Hikerdave...the videos are a great idea. I have the 78s and am going to get the 431s within the next couple of days. Please update if/when the vids are done.
    Thanks.
