How would you have us improve HomePort?

If there's something that you don't like about HomePort, or a feature that you want, reply here.

Simple changes and bug fixes can be made relatively quickly.

Changes to the user interface take more time but can happen more quickly if users request those features here in this forum.

Garmin,
Please make an app for Mac that can handle all your products.
It is frustrating to have to use Base Camp for land and Homeport for Marine.
Why don't you have one app for all?

Waypoint Symbol always visible and waypoint subset

I set up a number of routes running up the Chesapeake and along the Atlantic coast that share waypoints. It would be great to be able to have a base set of waypoints that are always visible and would become part of a route by just clicking on them using the route tool.

The Symbol library has over 200 images, most of which do not lend themselves to marine applications. It would be great to be able to have an alternate symbol library where frequently used symbols could be stored for more rapid access.

HomePort Help does not explain Smart Lists

There is an option File: New Smart List and File: New List. There is nothing in HomePort Help that explains what a Smart List does.

What does it do that is different than a list?

A smart list is a list whose contents are automatically populated based on a criteria you specify. For instance you could specify a list with waypoints made in the last week with a red flag waypoint symbol.

Exporting Track Log Depth Data

Homeport version 2.0.1 does not export track log depth data when choosing either CSV Text or Tabbed Text as the export file format. It does include a Depth column heading in both those file formats but no data. However, it does export track log depth data (though only in meters) when choosing GPX as the export file format. It would be nice to have it export depth data in all the file formats and in units consistent with those displayed in the Track Properties Window.

1. I would like to be able to print navigation information for routes. Waypoint, description, Lat, Long, magnetic bearing, distance, total distance, leg time to waypoint, total time, etc. in a table for the route.
2. Someone from Garmin should monitor the site and reply to legitimate requests for help. I have had a post up for weeks with no reply.

We currently do not support printing the chart symbols but will investigate for future releases.
