Running Dynamics - Advice requested

Hello everyone,,

Been running for approximately six month and seen some great improvements and training for my first 10k next month.

I am interested in learning more about my running Dynamics and debating between the running pod or a strap. It seems the HRM-Run has the same things as the pod but also has a stronger and more accurate HRM than say my FR645.

Is that about it? Does anyone have any first hand expertise or advice they'd like to share?

  • Got a 645 and had the same question a few months ago... the HRM-Run was my answer. Not regretting it as lactace threshold estimates requires a chest strap anyway, and I wear it mostly for speedwork.
Also comfortable enough to wear on long runs, which you may want to do initially to estimate your running form.

I have a Forerunner 235, which is not in the compatibility list for the HRM-Run. My question is, will the HRM-Run still connect as a normal heart rate strap, and then give me the additional data when I sync with Garmin Connect? I don't necessarily need the data on my run, I just need to be able to look at it to analyze the run.

  • will the HRM-Run still connect as a normal heart rate strap,

    Yes.

and then give me the additional data when I sync with Garmin Connect?

    No.
