Dear TDA Beta Tester,
You should have received an email today with this same information. Late November we will be releasing a long-awaited new feature in the Tacx app: GroupRide! Since we very much appreciate your feedback on our app, we would like you to be able to test the feature before releasing it to the public. For now, it is only possible to test the feature in TDA (Tacx Desktop Training app) since we are still working on some improvements for mobile devices (iOS and Android), tablets and Mac.
To experience the whole GroupRide feature as intended, you will need to have fellow riders joining you. This may be hard to manage in this stage since you'll have to invite other Beta Testers to join the course you wish to ride together. Therefore, we created this item to join or invite others in the Beta community to a GroupRide. So feel free to share your link by dropping a message below!
In case you cannot find an opportunity to virtually cycle together with someone, it is also possible to test the process of simply creating a GroupRide and joining one without group members. However, unfortunately, you'll not benefit from the full experience in that way.
Some extra important info:
- You can only currently test GroupRide on the Beta Tacx Desktop App.
- Make sure to have the 4.48 Beta version installed.
- You can start the GroupRide anytime you like.
- Your group member(s) needs to have a Tacx trainer and the 4.48 Beta TDA installed to be able to join a GroupRide.
- Your GroupRide leaderboard results will be saved for 24 hours after finishing the course.
- Challenges and playlists are excluded from the GroupRide feature.
- GroupRides are available for film courses, predefined sub-courses and GPS routes.
Steps to test the GroupRide:
- Login to Tacx Beta Desktop App.
- Go to 'Movies' and select a preferred movie (film course), sub-course or GPS route.
- Click on 'Create GroupRide' and your ride opens in GroupRide context.
- You can share your GroupRide by clicking 'copy message' and forward this via your preferred media (for example: Email/WhatsApp/Forum). The GroupRide course is shared via this invitation link, which you can share with other Beta Testers.
- When you click 'Start streaming' you'll join the GroupRide immediately, if you want to join later you can open the GroupRide via the invitation link.
- Have fun experiencing the Tacx GroupRide!
