Vivoactive 3 s/w 6.60 just hit my watch

No official announcement yet that I'm aware of. Anyone know what's new?

Thanks!

Mine updated to 6.60 yesterday.  I charged it last night to 100% and turned it off.  Turned it on this morning and it said only 84%.  It wasn't on that long when I looked (not sure what it said immediately after powering on).  After about 3 1/2 hours and a 2 mile walk with GPS, it's now at 79%.  I'll be keeping an eye on it.

One thing I noticed yesterday was that the HR would stop/start every few seconds during my walk.  However, stayed on full time if I changed data logging from Smart to Every Second.  This morning, after a power cycle, it didn't drop off at all with the Smart data logging.

They appear to have solved the battery drain by periodically turning off the heart rate sensor Laughing

I hope soo as well. Stopped wearing the watch all the time because it constantly needed to be charged.

  • With the 6.60 update, I now cannot sync with my phone. Did a factory default and now can't pair watch with phone. OHR also not working and altitude shows 19999. This is getting worse with every update.

  • Stair climbing is broken.

I just did my usual running on field and got 25 Floors...

  • Hi,

I got update 6.60 and haven't noticed any difference in my units performance or battery use - its stable and no significant drain on the battery.

I listen to DC Rainmakers podcast and recently he spoke about updates from Garmin that only get installed when you plug your unit (Edge units and some others) into a laptop/PC via a USB and use Garmin Express.  This installed several updates on my Vivoactive, Edge 820 and my wifes Forerunner 45.  They all work much better now.

Might be worth a try if you're having problems......

Since the update from 6.20 I have noticed that my calories are a lot less, even this I'm doing the same.

Also having trouble with the heart rate monitor dropping out and the green lights on the watch just disappearing. Is any one else having this problem?

  • 6.60 update 3 days ago. 23% battery use in 24 hours, keeping an eye on.

Since it arrived on my V3 the battery drain is awful, about 8-10% per hour. It used to last 3-4 days with doing a couple of running and cycling activities, now it lasts about 1/2 a day of use as just a watch. Am certain that update has done it. Have removed faces, done restore default, powered it off a few times, done everything to reduce consumption, but the device still chews through battery. Hoping for another update soon to fix.

    S/W version 6.60

    GPS version 0.00

    TSC version 2.10

    Sensor version 6.20

    WHR version 20.03.31

    Connect IQ 3.0.10

Wish we could rollback manually, its a joke that an update bricks the device with no option to go back to a previously stable version :-(
