Why does Venu keeps asking to update every few minutes?

It seems to be stuck in some sort of updating cycle. Green update check button on the bottom of the screen and red X button on the top. Middle of the face says "Software updates are available. Est. time 1 min. Install updates now?". A blue triangle appears and then some sort of what looks like a download logo. Eventually the watch gets back to it's regular watch face. Then a few minutes later it asks again to update again, over and over again.

    I see Garmin is still doing nothing to improve their firmware.  Same garbage release after release.

    I just bought the venu for boxing day and i am having same issue. The updates showing up very often. Its really annoying. I am thinking of returning it and taking the vivoactive 4. Hope no issues there as i read its same functions.

    I have the same problem. I got a Venu during Holiday and it's asking me many times per day to update the software, very annoying. My GPS version is 4.50. What can I do?

    It’s January 2021 and I’m getting the same requests for software updates over and over - the garmin express app that support said would fix this problem does not know about the garmin venu watch 

  • I think it's better to return it. I wrote to garmin support but have not heard a word back from them since i posted my message here. I still have a few more days to use it before i return mine if i dont hear anything or it does not get resolved... 30 days from 26 dec.

    It works temporarily. Once you update the softwares through garmin express, the file you just deleted reappears and the issue back to square one. Garmin support is joking if they give this as a solution. My venu going back....

  • Just bought it, and discovered this issue. Also the step counter and HR do not show up. Will be returning. As a shareholder and a garmin watch owner, I am displeased at this service.

    I spoke with Garmin support. There is an issue with the software installed in the venu watch and hence no solution except to return it and get another one. I did that and the one i got is working fine. No issues.
