Elevation profile during course navigation

I'm preparing for a trail race in august. I downloaded a gpx course file from the race's web site and after much effort I finally managed to upload it to my watch (the process of doing it was a real nighmare, but that's a story for another thread). Now when I select "Navigation" and then select the course I can view the course on the map screen and also the elevation profile. However after I start the activity the elevation profile is no longer available. On my old FR310XT I could view the elevation profile while doing the activity, with my current position superimposed on the profile graph. Is there a way to do it on the FR735XT?
  • Thank you for your help so far. One more question: On the 935, can you zoom in/out on the course elevation profile graph?

Can't say have really tried but I don't think you can. You can however with the map page, pan the map up/down, left/right and zoom in/out.
  • Thanks again. I will have to have a closer look on how it looks on the 935 when I get a chance to play with one.

I got the 735xt watch about 3 ago, and that was one of my biggest disappointments with garmin. How can you add the option to view a course elevation profile, and remove that option while doing the course, when you actually need it. It's like some kind of a joke, I really don't get it. It is there, I don't mind not having the option to track my position on it, but just viewing it would be amazing. I am doing a paper print of the elevation of the trail races I am doing because of this...
