Bump. Same thing happened to me. It froze and the GPS stops working. Unable to find a signal... Anyone able to find a solution for this?
So IF your watch is out of warranty you could do this.
If your watch is in warranty tell Garmin tech support that this worked and ask repair department to investigate.
I have extensive experience working…
I had the same issue, and just restored factory defaults on the watch and that seemed to sort it out.
Just done this and found the same problem. A tiny corroded section which I repaired and now I have GPS again! Unfortunately the edge of the screen where the glue strip was, tore and it doesn't look perfect now its reassembled but otherwise OK. When in bits I took the buttons apart and one of them must have let water in and was the cause of the problem. Little touch of olive oil and hopeful the o-ring will be a better seal this time. Shame the gps antenna isn't a metal strip like the bluetooth one - there will be a good reason no doubt. Thanks for posting your findings and experience!
Sorry for your troubles. Wish I could be of help, but I am curious about this:
manually adjust the time
How did you manually adjust your time? I thought the 235 would only set the time from GPS?
Thank for your reply!
Sincerely Eric
[edit] Oops, now I really hope things were sorted out. Just noticed when the original post was made. D'oh!
