Firmware 5.20 and current pace

Hi,
Yesterday my watch has been updated to ver. 5.20 and today I made a small training.
And I noticed that the stability of the current pace value became definitely worst than before. Now it is rapidly changing +/- 30 sec/km or even more while I'm running in a constant pace. I was running in a good weather conditions and on the open area.
The current pace value was never perfect, but now it is completely unreliable. Fortunately the average pace is still OK and the accuracy of the track is also quite good.
Do you have the same?
  • Is this the graph in Garmin Connect you are talking about? Does it differ from the average pace displayed on the watch? What does the watch and Garmin connect say the duration and the length of the run were? Ie what actually is the pace derived from those values?

@1 Yes, the on in Garmin Connect
@2 No, the avarage pace is the same (after the training watch showed me 8:22), the instant/current pace is the problem. It never showed me anything slower then 8:10, suddenly after the training i see avarage pace 8:22. On the graph i can also see that i run 9:00 and slower - the watch while running showed constant ~8:00
@3 Same, no difference - distance and time. The training was set on time, and HR zone.
  • So did you have pace alerts set? If so, did they say you were outside of target pace?

i wonder if you had a good GPS lock, did you see if pace was 0 before you started?

  • Found the problem.

If you set your training in connect to time and HR zone, then your primary data field, will show:
    1. PACE OF STEPS!
    2. Time
    3. HR Zone

So what i've seen was pace of steps (what ever it is), not actual PACE.

Btw. is there any way to change this screen to pace?
