Post your experiences in this thread.
From the sticky:

Changes made from version 4.20 to 4.30:
•Added support for Connect IQ 1.2.6.
•Added support for searching for sensors manually.
•Improved the battery performance when used at sub-freezing temperatures.

Not really going to get too excited about this one.

I'm not sure what this means:Added support for searching for sensors manually.
Does this relate to the issue where the watch is automatically connecting to someone else's sensor?

Definitely won't be benefitting from: Improved the battery performance when used at sub-freezing temperatures.
At sub zero, I will be indoors in the warm! Hopefully it will benefit some of you :-)
  • VO2 Max Will Not Sync

    Hi,
It seems my VO2 max is no more sync. with GC using fw 4.3.
I did a run yesterday, my vo2 max increased from 55 to 56. On the watch, it's display 56 but always 55 on the phone and there is no dot on vo2 Max for this day...
All other information are well sync.

Is anyone have the same issue ?

    Thanks.
Yes, I have the exact same problem.

I have sent a support email to Garmin about this issue.

Softvare version: 4.30, sensor hub version: 2.60

Since the v4.20 is released, I was looking forward the next software update in which OHR problem is finally fixed.
After updating to v4.30, I ran a half marathon today.
In the beginning it seemed all right and since the today running was not a HR-limited workout I not even watched the HR.

Only after sync I have noticed that the OHR was not OK... again... :(

Even though 4.3 added a manual search of sensors, it does not prevent the 235 to link to sensors near by, automatically; my wife's 235 regularly links to my HRM, if I stand near her, as we get ready for a run. :-(
  • Find her HRM in the sensor list and set it to off. Because it has linked once and you didn't delete it or turn it off it will continue to pair with 4.30 until set to off

    HTH

    CW
  • Still huge bug - deal breaker!

Doesn't really fix the issue. When racing or group training with the fr235 it will link to random sensors, and when they then get out of range HR simply reads zero and no data is collected.
This means that OHR is completely useless when racing or training with 'strangers'!!!
I was so relieved to see the 'add new' under sensors menu - believing that automatic pairing was now disabled. This is a deal breaker for the fr235, and I would not recommend anyone to buy this watch for this reason. I

This is a huge bug and should be fixed asap!!!
  • Vo2max busted for me since update as well. No updating. Everything else is OK.

    4.3

So 4.3 is a huge step back for me as far as hr accuracy....the first twenty minutes off a workout are worthless and the rest is erratic.....one step forward and two back
  • Just ran a 41 mile race and the HR worked without fail for the entire 41 miles. I actually expected it to have some trouble with the sunscreen and sweat making it slippery on my wrist, but there was never a problem.

Now if only I could choose to lock the firmware/HRM sensor software at this version so that they don't break mine while trying to fix other people's complaints....
  • RHR New algorithm?

Since the upgrade I first lost all my RHR data from the last week and then my RHR spiked to 55(its normally around 38-40)

This morning my RHR was 45 but my lowest value(which as far as I could tell used to be my RHR) is back to 38. See attached image.

    Anyone else experiencing similar?

Who to blame "Drink" or "4.3 Update" ;)

Mine RHR shot up to 74 after the update. Initially, I was confused as I had a drink (very small quantity) just after the update and when I woke (slept for 3 hours), the RHR was showing 74 (mine is usually between 44-55). next day ran for an hour, had proper sleep and food. And now it came down to 54. But, it did scared me, as i thought that small drink (I drink once or twice a year only) cause the spike in RHR.

Now, I wonder who to blame "Drink" or "Update 4.3"..
