End of life?

Starting to look like this watch really has been ditched.
No meaningful updates for a while. Still no proper 24/7 recording or any response to the thread on here.
Just looking at the Fenix 3 HR forums they seem to be having far more active development.

Still hugely suspicious of how not widely available this watch is in the UK at least, like they gave up on it before it was even released. I do hope I'm wrong. Although amazon UK have at least started selling it so hopefully I'm wrong.
  • oh please, stop with the semantics and nonsense
Semantics are important to both communication and presentation of information. Personal values, including yours and mine, are not.
the OHRM provides incorrect information which as you so rightly pointed out is worse than no information at all
So turn off the wrist heart rate monitor on the FR235, and you'll already be in a better situation by not being presented with incorrect information, irrespective of the fact that you're still physically wearing the monitor and having paid a price differential between the FR230 and the FR235 for it.

more words without addressing the actual issue...it seems to be a common theme with your posting style.

oh, and i already returned mine for a 230

This is a discussion forum, not an action group or taskforce. It isn't an agreed or implied goal to resolve issues (especially) in favour of customers and users. I've addressed the idea of useless versus incorrect information, and I've addressed your point about semantics. “Addressing the actual issue” doesn't mean trying to make things better from your perspective and/or world view, which is not representative of all participants in the discussion anyway.

If you want to make a request to Garmin, in the capacity of a paying customer, instead of having an open discussion – premised on the exchange of ideas and sharing of information – in which your peers might give you a piece of their mind and tell you where to go, try here: http://www8.garmin.com/contactUs/ideas/

I don't expect new functionality that wasn't promised when released, but it's a disgrace that a product was released containing multiple bugs and many months later almost all (and some new ones even) are still present.

What makes it even more infuriating for a lot of customers, is when some of these bugs are already solved on other products from the same company. It's like they don't share information internally. Unforgivable in this day and age.

I reported multiple bugs over the last months and Garmin promised every time to fix them and according to them an update was everytime almost ready to be released. I waited patiently because I was (foolish?) enough to believe them. But it really seems they just deprecated the whole product. I normally wouldn't believe it myself, but with similar products such as the Forerunner 225 in the not so distant past, as a customer you really are getting afraid ...
