Android issues, not compatible with garmin connect

Just bought one of these, been humming and haring for 6 months.

Not many problems so far, haven't been for a run/cycle but I will update. Main issue is I can't connect with my Android phone.

Yes I don't have a top of the range I phone, but I have an android 4.1+, surely Garmin should support these, it's not like they are ancient?

Anyone had this issue or any fixes? Otherwise it's back to the shop and i'll get a tom tom + scoche armband? £220 quid and i'll have to buy a new phone, no thanks.

Thanks all!
  • They won't show until you have a paired device is my guess, but I really don't want to try that if I don't have to! :)
Neither do I, but I'm very keen to know if the Heart Rate widget and Activity widget are accessible on a new (or factory-reset) FR235 even before pairing with a mobile device.
  • They should be, as neither of them need a mobile device.

Sorry, yeah I meant the watch.

I currently can only see HR and step counter with the up down buttons and the HR graph when pressing the GO button on the HR graph page. No other widgets are showing. However when I sync it up on the PC it says they should all be installed.

As they need a paired mobile device, they won't show on the watch until you have a mobile paired. No sense having them in the widget loop if there is no chance of them ever being usable. They ARE installed, and will show up when you pair.
