Wrong date and time?

Hello!

My 230 froze while I was scrolling through notifications and I had to hold the on/off button for 10 seconds to restart it. Once I restarted it, the date was incorrect as was the time. I even reset my watch completely and redownloaded the Garmin app on my phone but I can't get the date to change to the correct day or time. I've tried syncing it multiple times and turning the blue tooth on and off.

How do I fix this?

Thank you so much! This has been driving me crazy! I have been looking all over the internet for an answer and this is the first time I got one that worked. I managed to connect to GPS for the first time in over a year just now.

Haha. Six years later and mine just freaked. Frozen then wrong date and time. So basically, hook it up to the Garmin Express and sync it. Then hard shut off with the light button a few seconds. Turn it on with the light button. Then go to your run app (outdoor). Wait for the GPS to sync. and wella! you are golden again.

That worked. Why it doesn't also set time when it syncs is beyond me.

Does not work for me.

After updating to 8:20, the GPS version is 0.00 (Menu/SettingSystems/About) and the date/time is wrong.
Downgrade to 780 and reupdate to 820, but GPS is still 0.00.

What is your GPS version?

Hi Jim,

Thank you for the clear explanations - they were very easy to follow.

I tried this and it did not work for me. Any suggestions? Or does this mean it needs replacement?

hi - did you manange to solve this? my date is wrong, but my GPS is updated (to my knowledge)

Hi,

I know that this thread is over 7 years old! My forerunner has just exhibited the same problem as the OP.

Your link to the downgrade software no longer works so I'm stuck.

Yes it's a old watch, but I was working perfectly well until the last firmware update and now it's useless.

Anyone have any ideas on how proceed?
