Help with corrupt fit file

Might as well start a thread for this like they have over in the 500 forum.

I've only had my 520 for a week, and I really like it. The only issues I've had so far are that sometimes the bluetooth requires me to restart on the device to work properly, and then tonights FIT file is really corrupt so I can't load it over to strava.

The online FIT tool doesn't fix it, and then I opened it in golden cheetah. It seems the timestamps are all whacky, where it should be increasing every second, but it looks like the stamps are becoming integer overflows. The data is there, I just don't know of a way to edit all of the timestamps by just setting them as monotonically increasing seconds after they start getting corrupt in the file.

Any ideas?

This is happening more and more frequently to me now. Is this because the 520 is getting outdated?
Can someone please give me a hand with my file? Thanks.

edit: got it to upload after unpairing my 520 from Garmin Connect and reconnecting

Hi everybody. My garmin watch battery was dying as I was on a hike, so I tried to stop it and save it, unfortunately it died just as I was saving the workout, and now the file is corrupted. Can anybody help me to fix it?

    Hi Everyone -

Looks like I too have a corrupted .FIT file. Would normally not worry about it, but this was a truly epic 107 mile ride and would love to have the data!

My battery was running low and the unit quit during the save. It shows up in history and has the basic stats, but wont upload. Tried the online tools, but they couldn't handle it.

Any way someone could take a look and see if it's salvageable? Thank you!

    Hi All

Wondering if someone can help me. Seem to have lost 3 hours of a 4 hour ride. I THINK the missing data is there but just corrupt as the total distance, hight climbed, ride time and average speed are all correct. Just dont have GPS points, heart rate, power, cadence or speed showing for the missing three hours.

    Help greatly appreciate.

    hi GazEdge,

There are no data records between 35mins27sec and 4hrs21mins of your ride.

The Event Log shows that a 'Stop All' command was sent to unit at 35mins27sec and the device powered down at 51mins27sec. The device was then powered up again at 4hrs21mins.

    cheers
    Mike
