Firmware Version 5.3 issue

I used Garmin Express to update from 5.2 to 5.3.

Garmin Express synced -found the update , went thru the install process and finally reported that the update was successfully installed. (However it did not install the update on the device the firmware is still at 5.2 after rebooting the device)

If I resync in Garmin Express it will go thru the whole process again, and finally say that the update was successfully installed- but guess what ...its not installed!

I have uninstalled Garmin Express from the PC and reinstalled it but got exactly the same issue.
I have updated firmware many times and never had this issue.
Any ideas ?

    I have done a few rides since my last issues.

    Twice I have ridden past one of the spots where I had a random shutdown with no issue. The only difference being that I did not have LiveTrack running at the time.

    On one other ride I experienced restart of the device. On my initial experience with this problem the unit shut down and I had to power it up to start it again. This time it powered up on its own right after the shut down. The ride was still there (elapsed time still counting, distance, etc) and I had to manually resume it again. It didn't detect I was moving and "auto resume" like it does after an auto pause. I do know that there are 2 strava segments that end at roughly the same point I had the shut down but they are not even loaded on my device and I don't track them. One common thing was that in this case I did have LiveTrack running.

    Since this I have done 2 other rides, no live track, no problems.

    In my case it seems related to the LiveTrack feature and possibly something with strava segments.

    Since 5.3 unexpected shutdowns

    Experienced 5 or 6 shutdowns in a 125 km ride. Strava segments disabled, Bluetooth disabled. First few shutdowns were in the first hour. Last shutdown was few hours later.

    Previous ride also sensors dropped and bad gps performance for part of the track.

    Did not happen to me on 5.2....

    Does anyone know if firmware 6 fixes the shutdown issue?

    First ride today with V6. No shutdowns today!
