Garmin Edge 1030 Firmware 9.50 and 9.66

It's been 3 months now I have been screwing around with TWO of these GPS models since I upgraded to 9.50. Out of frustration; I Installed the BETA 9.66. ALL THE SAME ISSUES OVER AND OVER AGAIN AT LEAST TWICE PER WEEK.

Loses sensors: HR, Speed/Cadence, Vector 3

Loses data screens and all settings

Loses locations

Won't boot up.

Resets on it's own then asks me what language I speak.

Locks up

Won't connect to PC unless you hold the power button for 10 seconds.

Loses phone pairing.

I sent an email as per feedback form in the zip file of 9.66

also contacted Garmin in Sydney who sent me the return form.

here is the response from the beta team.

After more investigation, we now understand the problem. Unfortunately the device in its current state is not recoverable. and have determined your device needs to be exchanged.

A representative from Product Support will be contacting you at this email address to coordinate the exchange as soon as possible.

Garmin also told me to return it for an exchange. I'm out of warranty but I'll get a refurbished one

Same issues. Sent my working 1030 with blue halo screen problem in to Garmin who provided a free refurbished unit, even though it was slightly out of warranty. The new one came with 9.3 and offered the 9.5 firmware install which I accepted, then after a couple of rides it started deleting profiles and displaying strange map text -- "walking on Elm Avenue" and would not boot up without a long press on the power button. When it did boot up, bluetooth/phone connection had been wiped out and it asked me for my preferred language, weight, and such.

Garmin sent me a second unit which did the same things. I downgraded it to 9.48 beta from 9.5 to wipe out settings, then installed 9.66 beta, and it still ended up needing long presses to boot and lost phone connections, deleted profiles.

A third replacement is to arrive today.

I noticed on one of my reset attempts I triggered what appeared to be a diagnostic mode, showing status of all manner of processes, including bluetooth. Can I look at that to see what is going on?

I installed 9.68 Beta which was sent to me by Garmin. I installed it on August 07. I have ridden around 180 miles in 3 separate rides. It appears to have fixed all the issues. (fingers crossed)

Did you make any other setup choices, such as not using wifi?

I don't use Wifi. I have it set to automatic upload but only when I plug it into my PC.

My replacement did the same exact things. I ended up doing three hard resets and it now works fine. Something very wrong with 9.50 firmware.

Yes , since 9.48 beta , 9.50, 9.66

All those are crap
